What we stand for

People First Party as the Australian Peoples Party, believes that every Australian has an unextinguishable right to a share in our National Inheritance. The core purpose of government is to preserve and grow that Inheritance so that Australians present and future can enjoy the wealth that our land has to offer.

We are at a critical point in our history where our National Inheritance is being squandered. Australians are becoming poorer in every regard – not due to the temporary disruptions of war or crises as in the past, but due to reckless mismanagement and a disregard for our future.

Being an Australian is more than the laws we live under or the passport we carry: Australia is a nation. We should enjoy all it has to offer today, without ever forgetting the efforts of our forebears and our obligations to pass this National Inheritance on to our children.

Prosperity

Australians are by nature an industrious and enterprising people. There has never been a period in our history when Australians were not willing to be inventive and hard working.

It is the responsibility of government to facilitate industry and therefore wealth. Whether that be building infrastructure that supports productivity, supporting our citizens to make good use of their skills, or writing regulations that prioritise genuinely useful investments, our goal will always be to ensure Australians will be rewarded for their work. National funds, which are taken from the private economy and are the property of Australians, must always be used responsibly.

Australians enjoy a high standard of living, which is the result of our own hard work. We must continue develop industries that produce real, tangible wealth so that we can continue to enjoy this abundance for generations to come.

Heritage

Early settlers introduced a rich culture to Australia as a newly formed nation, and since those beginnings we have developed a distinct identity and national character. Australia has its own history, lifestyle, values, art, folklore, and civic society that continues to develop.

Our forefathers faced many hardships unimaginable to us today, but their efforts and the efforts of all who followed produced a wealthy, free, and independent Australia.

We are proud of our way of life, our history, and our identity. Our ancestors were right to build Australia and to fight for it whenever the need arose, and its continuation is now our collective responsibility.

Lands

We enjoy an abundant country, rich in natural beauty and resources. Australians rightly enjoy our natural environment for leisure and our resources as a source of wealth.

All Australians deserve to see the proceeds of our national resources. While those who extract and process resources will always be rewarded for their efforts, it is only just that the use of these resources results in a higher standard of living for all.

We are obliged to use ours lands responsibly, to preserve our bushlands, forests, and coast, to exploit resources carefully, and to prevent pollution as much as possible. With care, future Australians will continue to appreciate our striking landscapes and unique native species far into the future.
