Building the Future. Putting People First.

The People First WA Team, is proudly run by a dedicated group of all-volunteer members. The team are passionate Western Australians who give their time, energy, and enthusiasm to play an active role in shaping the future of our great country and build our national inheritance.

This grassroots team embodies the true spirit of the People First Party: ordinary people stepping up to drive real change from the ground up. Every flyer handed out, every community event organised (like the “Shape the Future” forums in Perth or online events), and every conversation had is fueled by genuine commitment of real life experience rather than added bureaucracy.

What unites us, is a keen drive to promote the core policies of People First, putting everyday Australians first with common-sense solutions on the economy, government accountability, cost-of-living relief, and restoring prosperity for families and communities. We are not career politicians; we are locals who believe in the party’s vision and are actively building its presence in WA by recruiting members, hosting discussions, and spreading the message door-to-door and online.

No matter if you’re in Perth or across Western Australia remote areas, you can make a difference. Join your local Branch, become a leader in your community or simply help to amplify these people-first policies and grow the movement!

Join the Team as we, build the machine to beat the machine.

Meet Gerard Rennick

President, People First Party

Gerard was born and raised on a family farming property just outside Chinchilla, on Queensland’s Darling Downs. Thanks to his upbringing and childhood experiences, Gerard maintains a deep appreciation for the land, its people and the challenges they face.

After completing his secondary education in Toowoomba, Gerard moved to Brisbane where he completed a Commerce degree at the University of Queensland and later a Master’s degree in Taxation Law and another in Applied Finance.

Gerard has extensive experience in senior finance roles across a range of industries, business types and countries. His experience gives him a strong understanding of our economy and how it affects consumers, investors, employers and employees. Gerard also understands the importance of reward for effort and will always strive to ensure that Australia’s small to medium-sized businesses are given every opportunity to succeed.

His background means that he understands sound business principles; and as a Senator for Queensland, he recognises the value of strong economic management, property rights and a just legal system. He is passionate about sustainable land management and ensuring the delivery of sovereign infrastructure and essential services.

Being a happily married father of three children, Gerard understands the everyday responsibilities of raising a family. He has developed a deep appreciation for legacy, not as a distant idea, but as a lived commitment.

For Gerard, legacy means building something that outlasts personal success: strong values, financial security, opportunity, and a stable community that his children, and the next generation, can inherit with confidence. It shapes how he makes decisions, how he leads, and why he believes in thinking long-term rather than chasing short-term wins.

A better life for our children is the vision that defines us as a party.

-Gerard Rennick
